SmartEye v1.0.2 – What’s New

  • Wi-Fi Connections –  Improved Wi-Fi stability, speed, and error handling.
  • New Menu Option to Clear Dark Library – Quickly remove all stored dark frames from your device.
  • Screen Saver Timing Adjusted – Instead of turning the screen completely off, the screen saver will now activate after 20 minutes of inactivity.
  • Improved Stability for Stacking – Stacking will now wait to begin until the eyepiece is stable, preventing blurred results from accidental movement.
  • Resume Previous View – When you resume from standby, SmartEye will now display the last stacked image you were working on.
  • Lowest Cooling Temperature Now 0 °C – You can now set the cooling module down to 0 °C. Remember, maintaining a consistent temperature is more important than reaching the lowest possible value. In ALPACA Camera mode, lower temperatures can still be set.
  • On-Screen Gamma Feedback – Gamma adjustment now appears on-screen when turning the crown during Live View or stacking.
  • SD Card Formatting Fix – Resolved an issue that prevented formatting a fresh or previously unmounted SD card directly from SmartEye.

SmartEye Final Design 3D Renders

October 01, 2023

We are thrilled to unveil the final 3D renders of SmartEye, showcasing the culmination of over two years of precise engineering and innovation by Pegasus Astro and the makers of SkySafari. Designed with cutting-edge technology in a compact 2-inch eyepiece form factor, SmartEye is packed with features that elevate visual observation.

At first glance, it may resemble a standard eyepiece, but inside lies the advanced Sony IMX533 color CMOS sensor, which captures stunningly detailed light from celestial objects. Leveraging live stacking technology, SmartEye projects a high-resolution, 90° apparent field-of-view display at the eyepiece, giving you a near real-time enhanced visual experience.

What sets SmartEye apart is its ability to transform even modest telescopes into powerful instruments, bringing faint objects into vivid detail that would otherwise be invisible through conventional optics.

These final 3D renders mark a major milestone in our journey, embodying the engineering precision and feature-rich design that make SmartEye a revolutionary tool for astronomers.
